Celebrating Tradition and Community:
Rajput Sabha Bengaluru’s 35th Dasara
This year, Rajput Sabha Bengaluru marked its 35th Dasara celebrations with immense joy and enthusiasm. The ten-day festival from 3rd to 12th November, culminating in Vijayadashami on 12th November 2024, was a vibrant display of our community’s rich heritage and cultural spirit.
We consider Durga maa, also called Amba Bhavani and Chamundeshwari as our kuldevta, she occupies a sacred and beloved position in the hearts of all Rajputs.
It fills us with immense pride to witness the active participation of our community members, young and old.
The festivities commenced with the sacred ‘Kalash’ installation followed by daily pujas and devotional prayers. One of the highlights of our celebrations was the ‘Shastra Puja’ ceremony, where community members performed a puja of their weapons and instruments. This time-honored tradition reminds us of our Rajput warrior legacy and our commitment to protecting righteousness.
We also organized a cultural program featuring traditional Rajput folk dances and music, keeping the audience enthralled.
The Times of India article aptly captured the essence of our celebrations. It highlighted how the Rajput community in Bengaluru has successfully preserved its cultural identity while embracing the local customs and traditions of Karnataka. This spirit of adaptability is a testament to our community’s rich history and our ability to thrive in different settings.
Dasara is more than just a festival; it’s a time for our community to come together, strengthen our bonds, and celebrate our shared heritage. Here at Rajput Sabha Bengaluru, we are committed to keeping these traditions alive for future generations.
